Grant's 7th Birthday

I am sad to report that is was the worst birthday ever!! First on May 6th (his actual birthday) he came home from school and said he hated going to school on his birthday. He slipped on a rock and fell and scraped his elbow. Then he stepped on gum, yuck. That night we went to Cold Stone for ice cream (that part was good!)

After ice cream we went home and got out his big present, a new bike! He grew too big for his old bike. He was excited but really wanted a DSi, kids!


We had his birthday party scheduled for the Saturday after his birthday on May 8. Grant woke up that morning and felt sick and threw up :( He continued to throw up for several hours. I called and rescheduled his party for 5/22. Luckily we were just planning to take a few friends to Chuck E Cheese so there was not much already planned. We just had a whole cake to eat. I love cake but I never want to see a whole cake again! He was only sick for 1 day so at least that was good. Leah was also sick. Then on Sunday Kevin and I were sick. Sunday was Mother's Day so I joined in with Grant saying it was the worst Mother's Day ever.

We all took Monday off to recover and by Tuesday we were feeling better.

May 22 finally came around so we could have take 2 of his party! All of his friends were able to reschedule. I however had a couple appointments in the morning so I was going to meet them at Chuck E Cheese. That morning I left for my appointments in the van...however Kevin needed the van to transport all the kids, oops. So we called a neighbor who was planning to come and bring the whole family and they took Grant with them and Kevin had room in the CRV for the other kids. After my appointments I met up with them. I was later than I wanted to be but I am glad I made it at all! Grant had so much fun and now wants to go the Chuck E Cheese for every birthday. Leah had fun as well. I am glad it all worked out.
